Can I run the eLearning website?

To use the Newham Academy of Music eLearning resources website, we recommend that you use a modern web browser:

• Firefox for Linux, Mac OS X or Windows
• Internet Explorer 6 or above for Windows
• Safari 2 or above for Mac OS X or Windows
• Chrome for Mac OS X or Windows

You will also need the free Adobe Flash Player and Adobe Shockwave Player installed. The following tests will determine whether your current browser setup is suitable...

Browser

You are using an unknown, unsupported web browser, but it has successfully passed our minimum requirements. We can't guarantee that the website will look exactly as expected. You are still advised to download one of the recommended browsers.

Advanced Javascript

Advanced javascript features disabled. Areas of the site require javascript to function fully.

CSS

Cascading stylesheets (CSS) are disabled. The look of the website will be quite different. If you have deliberately disabled CSS to aid readability you can ignore this message.

Flash

Flash Player isn't installed. All of the interactive teaching resources require it. You should install the free Flash Player from Adobe.

Shockwave

Shockwave isn't installed. All the interactive SMILE teaching resources require it.

To view some interactive music resources on this website you need to install three Shockwave 'Xtras' and a Soundfont. The Xtras were developed by Charanga's Antoine Schmitt and are totally safe.

Click the Install button as each Xtra dialogue appears. When offered the Soundfont, choose the High/Large version.

After this has installed, you will be able to preview the resource. You should only need to run this install once, on each computer you intend to view the resources on.
